What Are MCC and MNC Codes?

The MCC (mobile country code) names a country in three digits. The MNC (mobile network code) names one network inside the country.

MCC and MNC in Practice

The ITU assigns MCCs, and national regulators assign MNCs of two or three digits. The UK carries MCC 234 and 235. Vodafone UK is 235-91. The pair opens every IMSI and appears in HLR lookup responses.
