Introducing eHLR

eHLR is ScoreMachine’s number check for CPaaS platforms, VoIP providers and bulk SMS aggregators. eHLR tells you whether a number is worth a termination before you pay for one.

eHLR starts from HLR data and adds live OTT presence signal. Every country gets its own tuned waterfall of sources. eHLR is live today in the six GCC markets.

Your Traffic Carries Numbers That Should Not Be There

Why Plain HLR Is Not Enough

An HLR lookup queries the Home Location Register, the subscriber register inside a mobile operator’s network. HLR is the standard reachability check in this market. HLR data is partial in four ways.

Partial coverage

Not every carrier exposes HLR. Global MNP (mobile number portability) registries have holes.

Stale data

Ported, churned or reassigned numbers can read as valid for days or weeks.

Regulatory blocks

A growing list of markets restricts SS7 HLR queries.

What OTT presence adds

eHLR closes the gap with OTT (over-the-top) presence signal. A live device on the number is the strongest reachability proof available without spending a termination.

There is no single global stack. For each country, ScoreMachine tunes the source mix and the probe order. The tuning follows what is available and reliable in that market.

eHLR bills per successful lookup. An unknown result is not billed.
