Introducing Audience Tags
A validation tells you whether a number works. Audience tags add one more fact: the interest categories that number has turned up in.
What a Tag Looks Like
Each tag is a category name and a year. Nothing else comes back.
Our demo number, +44 7911 123456, returns two:
The year is when the number was last seen in that category. A 2024 tag is fresher than a 2019 one, so weigh it that way. There are 21 categories in all.
What You Can Do With Them
Split a list before a campaign.
Your travel offer goes to the numbers tagged Travel & tourism. Everyone else gets a message written for them.
Set a freshness window.
Keep tags seen in the last year or two and filter out the rest. Old tags describe an old list.
Brief your agents.
A call center can start the day on the segment the script was written for.
Two Methods
score.phone.tags takes phone numbers. score.email.tags takes email addresses. Each returns a list of tags with a tag_date value.

What Tags Never Include
Sensitive categories are never returned. A tag never names the site or source behind it. It describes where the number has turned up and makes no claim about the person who holds it.
How to Turn Them On
Audience tags are an optional add-on. Turn them on in your workspace by accepting the data-processing addendum. Then call either method on the numbers and addresses you hold.
As with every check, you are expected to hold the contacts you submit on a lawful basis.
